WTFudge was created to discuss topics among the whole of this community. It’s 100% free to read and comment on, so let your perspectives be heard. If you haven’t subscribed to Life of Fiction yet, the button’s below. Join our community. You won’t regret it.
Oh, and don’t forget to share this with a friend!
Recently, I had a meeting with Höbin, Chuck, Dax, Finley, and ‘old man’ Winston from janitorial. Winston ‘sees’ stuff, so I wanted his perspective.
Plus, he always brings doughnuts.
The meeting was an effort to help me work out some issues that have become distractions. These distractions have been affecting my writing schedule, and that isn’t acceptable. So we had a few raspberry-filled doughnuts and talked it through.
Unanswered Questions
I often have things on my mind. Things I work through, so I have a better understanding. Then I apply this new knowledge to my life, and my writing.
Why do we read what we read?
What is it that keeps our attention in a story?
Why doesn’t Jerry listen to me? I told him Julie from Dispatch would be more eager to go on a date if…he…showered. B.O. isn’t a ‘manly musk’, Jerry. It’s just gross.
We eventually had to call it a night. Winston took off his shirt and started dancing on the coffee table. Good news is, we not only got Winston home safe, we also came up with a stellar solution to the problem.
You.
WTFudge Is Born
I know. I know. But when I just labeled it ‘WTF’, my stomach turned. I don’t use that language, and I didn’t want to give new potential readers the wrong impression. I’d like to think that LoF is a family-friendly-ish zone.
POINT being, this new section of Life of Fiction is something special.Â
Something different.
And yet it’s still in perfect harmony with the theme of LoF.Â
There are some distinct differences, however, with posts here in WTFudge.Â
WTFudge entries are 100% open to all subscribers, both to read and to comment.
WTFudge is about topics I don’t know the answers to, which is why I am looking for more perspectives and experience from you, to work through my own thinking process.
WTFudge topics have no boundaries, but they always affect LoF and my storytelling.
WTFudge doesn’t have a regular publishing schedule. I will publish them when I have something on my mind that I am trying to flesh out and understand better.
WTFudge is an evergreen conversation. That means you’re never too late for the party! If you think of something next month and you want to add to the conversation, I want to hear what you have to say.Â
WTFudge is more about the conversation than the article. That means the party is always in the COMMENT SECTION. Don’t be shy, blurt it out =)
WTFudge will not work unless you join the conversation.
The Magic of the Idea
Our goal for this section is to create a free flow and exchange of ideas and views within this community. My perspective about this is…we can become the smartest storytellers in the world.
I say this because if a question is asked, and we have (let's say) 50 people reading and taking part, it means that every person participating has 50 perspectives.
The entire group doesn’t have to figure out the answer.
Just one of us.
Then that one shares it with the rest…and we all win.
See how this works?
With all the amazing and beautiful personalities I’ve already seen and interacted with in this community, I am GIDDY with the potential and possibilities!
The only question left to answer is:
Will you join me in the conversations?
Think about it. Hard.
Then hit the ‘Leave a Comment’ button and join the conversation, cause I’m waiting!
I'd really like to know how many of this community are willing to engage in conversations within the comments? Was this a bad idea, or could I be right in this being one of the cornerstone sections for us to get to know each other?
Lol it can be challenging to get comments. Sometimes I see the most 'popular' things I make get about 100 to 1,000 views (not a lot) one or two likes (at most) and zero comments. That's when I figure they're all bots. But these are usually videos anyways on platforms I know you've expressed disdain about. My writing hardly gets comments, views, or likes. Hopefully this starts up the conversations you're looking for. My only question is, how should I pronounce this? My head is automatically saying "What The Fudge" (of course) but my brain is thinking... only Fudge is spelled out, so should I call it "Double You Tee Fudge"? 😂
