You didn’t mean to….but you were prepping the back yard fr a new garden you’ve wanted. Because the ground has so much clay in it, you decide to go down a couple feet to give the grow beds some sand, providing the roots of plants a means to grow without struggling.
You hit something. Hard.
There’s a flare of light as your shovel hits the object and you’re thrown back, into the mount of dirt you’ve made. You’re not hurt, but that wasn’t comfortable. You crawl forward and uncover a diamond the size of both your fists combined.
It pulses with a warm energy.
…for some reason, you don’t feel afraid. Snatching it up, you run into the house before you’re seen.
What happens next? What powers does it grant you, and how would you use them to change your life?
Oh, I'm definitely using it for money. I seem to attract everything else I want in life so might as well go for the deficit. I know ... boring ... but pragmatics ...
I brace myself because now I know I’m a main character of some sort which means the universe is going to push me into a plot. And before you know it evil wizards riding hot air balloons armed with AK47s attack, You uncle dies and says something vaguely inspirational, you have to take a cursed ring to a volcano, while learning to use a laser sword from an ancient and distant galaxy, and learning magic in a wizard school in Europe.
Although I read a little book the other day, really just a speach, by Theodore Roosevelt, The Strenuous Life. I'd never read it before. Maybe not a community of peace. Maybe a community of people dedicated to making good things happen...

*sigh*

Anyway elemental powers would be awesome though.
HAHhahahaha....
Love it.
I always wondered what it would be like to speak to the elements. Not like fire and water, but the smaller elements which make up those elements.
To speak to and understand the building blocks of the universe. Not to command them, but to ask and persuade them to assist me.
That,... or the ability to sing perfectly so I could serenade my wife. Right now I scare her when I try...hehe.
im hoping for shapeshifting, or a pocket dimension house
i could either look like myself, or never worry about not having a place to live
if you can be small you need less food and space too to that's nice
can i share this gift? keeping it all to myself seems a waste
It's yours, so you geek me what you do with it 😏
I'm afraid I'd probably set out to change the world, correct injustices, and generally make a pain of myself!
Ah, but see, then you'd have a partner in not- crime... cause that's what I would do.
If I could talk to the elements and gain their help, I'd travel the world, gathering people from evil and building a community of peace.
Wouldn't that be awesome?
