Words are so important. And I think that when you said β€œrelatable” that hit it on the head for a good story.

If you can’t relate to the story your experience what incentive is there to care. (This is why so many main characters have trauma.) everyone can relate to death, everyone can relate to feeling unwanted. So authors weld it onto their protagonist’s personality.

But to be honest all the fancy presentation and fluff you put on to something doesn’t make a blind bit of difference if what is being said or shown has no truth or purpose. It just becomes another soulless piece of fancy looking trash.

Wow.

Don't hold back, Joseph. Let me know what you REALLY think, eh?

Beautifully put -- and this is exactly why I've been struggling to find that special, or maybe I should say, genuine and authentic voice on this story -- so I don't make any more trash.

The things that cripple my mind is worrying about what people want,...and being fearful that these things I feel almost desperate to write will be so odd in the publishing landscape.

After the first season of the Life of Fiction Podcast, I had a few ideas of something else to try, something specific, and I've come to the conclusion that if I don't try it, I'll never know if it was a good idea.

...same with the main story.
