So, you're telling me that I need to watch out for shower curtains - they might hurt me. Got it!

I'm sorry that you've not been feeling well, but it seems like it was a bit of a blessing as well, due to the dreams and ideas. I hope you feel better soon! Enjoy the holiday season!

Thank's Kayla -- and YES -- BEWARE OF SULKING SHOWER CURTAINS! Mine has never blinked twice at me, but I could feel something off that day...and then CRACK...my back went out and I felt the shock down the right side. Couldn't walk for the day...forced me to sit in a chair and join with a delightful gnome couple on Everquest!!

*shakes head*

There are off days and good days, and today started well,....but I feel like I'm about to get on a waterslide going wayyyyyy down.

I hear you. I'm recovering from covid and it has been really slowing me down.

I was hoping you would be better by now!

Hey sometimes you need a couple days confined to a chair to get the creative juices flowing.

I’m glad you were able to make a breakthrough “despite being sick.” Hope your back improves!

And your PC build goes well (I love mine)

Oh and just a thought with Procreate Dreams. You might want to consider going down the animatic route rather than the animation route... just a thought

What's the difference??

Expand full comment

the main difference is the number of images or illustrations used to get the ideals of movement.

While a simple one second animation might have 10-12+ drawings. A animatic might have 2-4

(look some up on YouTube you’ll get the idea.)

Anyway it’s just a suggestion.

Can you fill in more later? I will look this up, I'm considering testing and learning how to do this with my Stella and the Bear drawings first. Easier to draw and get used to the process...

(Sorry... was working today so my reply’s are really spread apart.)

yes! you can fill in other frames later.

Animatics are similar to blocking. For an animation.

They were created to get the feel of how a scene will play out visually. Before committing to the scene.

(they’re even occasionally used in Live action movies for this same purpose.)

But when animatics are cleaned up they can look really nice.

Anyway... yes you can make add more drawings in between.

Also that’s a great idea to start with those simpler characters. (Although I would start really simple in the beginning)

the classic first test for most is a bouncing ball.

I think it would be cool to see an actually animated version of the smiley face on Wendell’s T shirt as well.

I tried the ball, and I'm sorry, but for me it was anti-climatic.

...Wendell's smiley face is a PEREFECT first choice. I've animated that many times through gifs and such. Mostly for my Discord avatars.

Thanks for that suggestion, Joseph!
