Who knew you could start our own cartel…?
Sure hope you had a wonderful weekend.
I got to see my kids and grandkids! SOOOO much fun!!
Why my kid hid eggs int he trees, far out of the reach of the 4 year olds I’ll never understand.
Not too sure the teens are that good at hiding things.
…maybe the younger kids are just really bad at finding things.
Just sayin.
Oh. OH! We have something fun coming up tomorrow =)
The ‘FICTION CARTEL’ EVENT - TOMORROW!
Join Me & Tell Me a Mystery for a conversation with other writers about “Writer’s Block” and why it’s NOT a ‘thing’. At least Ann and I have perspectives on this you might be interested in. You can watch live, ask questions in the chat, and if you’re a writer, you may even get a seat on the stage!
COME SAY HELLO!
9am Pacific | 10am Mountain | 11am Central | 12 noon Eastern
The Worldbuilding Masterclass is here.
Most writers aren’t failing because they lack ideas. They’re stuck because their worlds don’t work.
This course gives you the tools to stop stacking disconnected details and start building a world with emotional gravity—something that fuels story, characters, and conflict without falling apart halfway through.
You don’t need more templates. You need clarity, structure, and truth.
My goal has been to give you all three—and the system to do it again and again.
The pre-sales page will be up this week. If you’re interested, you can get access for $150 before the official launch. Then the price will jump to $499. I’ll place the link here when it launches.
Have a great day!
Remember:
You are MORE than you THINK you are!
Until Next Time,
Jaime *330lbs-of-giggles* Buckley
You and Ann are definitely the Voice Mod squad! I’ll have to check out the recording of the Fiction Cartel, ‘cos it’s a grandkids day.
wooHOO! Have fun with the kiddies!!
Saturday was SO much fun around here =)
We hosted the Easter egg hunts for years. Ours was on a road through the woods and the eggs were hidden on both sides and in some of the vehicles that parked there. The eggs would sometimes have prizes instead of candy and we've found eggs from five years previous in some cases. Loads of fun!
5 YEARS?!??
...dang.
We've been blessed to be essentially adopted by another family and all their kids are nieces and nephews to us. Some of them are in their mid-teens now so We've been doing the Easter egg hunt for something like 10+ years now.
Oh, buddy...I LOVE hearing that!
Something I believe in SO deeply, is that family isn't about blood--it's about connection.
I'm a father of 13 beautiful children. My wife and I have 31 incredible grandchildren.
...but there are many, MANY others, who have claimed my wife and I over the years, and we claim them BACK.
When a beautiful blonde-haired, blue-eyed 4 year old runs up to you, wraps her arms around your leg and professes her love for you...how do you NOT claim her back?
Her mother just stood there, smiling.
There are families we are connected to, who lost their fathers, father-in-laws and grandfathers.
All of them...my friends...and I miss them.
So their families ARE mine.
That being said, I can honestly and with a very....very full heart...say that my wife and I have 80 grandchildren (and counting), and last year had our very first GREAT-grandchild.
...and I am 56.
Thank you for sharing that, D.W....
I love family and family connections.
Good man, you.
Glad we are friends.
It really is. You know that 'blood is thicker than water' saying? How it goes fully is 'The blood of the covenant (found family) is thicker than the water of the womb' and I have seen that to be true for years now.
The people that say you can't choose your family are dead wrong. I have kids that don't share a drop of blood with me call me uncle and mean it in every possible way.
You are, without a doubt, tremendously blessed. I'm a little late to the game but I would love to have just as big a family someday.
Likewise, Jaime. I'm glad we found each other on here.
Also, why haven't you beat this cold yet? My mother would be filling you full of cayenne chicken soup if you were within range, lol. Seriously though, I hope you get well soon.
I've corrected people about that quote for some time.
...you're the first person I've seen use the correct quote.
I have a seriously compromised immune system...so I don't know. It's hanging on like a.....
ungh.
...I'm too tired to know how it's hanging on.
Gotcha. Get some rest and stop talking to people online. They'll understand.
