Would Any Of You Be Interested In Special Events Where I Live Stream On Twitch To Chat And Answer Questions? Should we make this a goal once we hit a certain community size?
...
Just FYI, I did stream for 4+ years with live cartooning, so I have the equipment and skill to make this happen...it's not completely new to me. It's all set up and ready to be used if enough people want that option.
Iโm sorry, but did you just say that you draw cartoons as you live stream, before an audience, in real time?!?! I know there are folks out there who can actually DO that, but to meet one, well, Iโm-, Iโm-, Iโm out of words, to be honest. And yes, Iโd love the opportunity to hang out on Twitch with you and your community. Does that mean youโll demonstrate your drawing magic?
Hello, Victoria...and...yes, i did just say that. Been a professional cartoonist/illustrator since 1986. When my kids showed me Twitch, I roamed the channels, back in it's early states...then asked, "What. You mean, i can do my day job, drawing for other people, but do it live and have company to talk to while I work? I'M IN!!"
Did that for roughly 4 years. Small following, but dedicated. Took breaks to play scary games the viewers would suggest or buy me...and they'd laugh at my reactions.
...but 95% of them preferred to watch me draw and ask me questions.
Oh, on Black Friday (USA - day after Thanksgiving IF you're not from here), I would live stream my 9 daughters decking out the house for Christmas.
Would I draw for you while we stream? Absolutely. Love doing that =)
Wonderful, Jaime. And 9 daughters! That's the nicest thing I've heard in quite some time. Good for you and your wife. I wish you and your family all the best.
Allow me to introduce myself. I'm a friend of Deleyna, and you can find me over on World Anvil. I write historical fiction and a little romance, too. I just came over here to Substack to test the waters. And yes, I'm in the USA, west of the Rockies.
Yes, by all means drawing cartoons on a Twitch livestream is something I'd love to see. I only have a few buddies online, but I'll try to drag in one or two with me.
Oh goodness,...I thought of something else which needs to be changed.
Artwork.
Each of the episodes needs its own artwork for the header.
I know, I know....someone's going to argue that point, BUT the cartoonist in me just won't let that part go. I'll lose sleep over it.
My promise is I won't do it as a top-ish priority, but if you're all okay with this, I'll do it as a side project to relax while I take breaks and do some fun sketches for the episodes, rather than detailed, critical artwork.
Tried to say it another way, because I know you care about me and my health, and I love you for that Deleyna. Also hope your vacation is going well?
For the record, my desire in how to DO this serial fiction change is going to have the effect of using rocket fuel to propel a tricycle. It'll be a night and day difference, IMO, but the challenges I have are:
1) The first two books: 'Demoni Vankil' and 'Bloodsticks' are already published. That's okay, but that means the chapters are posted and are 100% linear in story.
2) The first 15 chapters of 'CHOICES', which will be redacted and changed to Season 2, Episode [Insert Name Here]. Each previously published chapter will be (slightly) transformed so each episode can be read independently, even though the best experience will be in order.
I don't know if the chapters will be cut in half or what -- I have to think this through carefully -- because what I'm doing now is forming a publication schedule to ELIMINATE that stress you're pointing out. Making these into serial fiction has the #1 goal to make my life more manageable while providing even more entertainment for all of you.
That might not be obvious at first to most people, but you out of anyone, know how I work behind the scenes. You know that if I can make these smaller (for me), yet still substantial bites (for you), then so long as I don't throw more stuff on my own plate, I can breathe.
COMMUNITY QUESTION:

We used to play drawing games.
I'd take requests, and then try to draw a scene using a single, continuous line.
...OR we'd play "What If?" I have a drawings still, of 'What if in LOTR's Legolas used pistols instead of a bow?'
Hmm. Now I need to do a post.

Look forward to it. Take care.

It's a good idea. It will help your readers find what they want, read what they want and sort though it quickly.
Agreed.
I look forward to whatever you do, except the overworking and stressing. I already can't keep up with reading!
...aaaaand I knew you'd say that.

I love the reorganization idea, to make it easier to navigate through here. Sometimes the simplest way, is the best. Can't wait to see it all happen!
Thank you, Saini!
This is also to provide me with more storytelling options, but oh my goodness...we needed a better way for readers to find what they want!!
...when I couldn't find something myself, without having to use the backend...I knew I had to change the site for the community.
