If you have never read the works of Kummer & Ann, you’re missing out.
Special thanks to my dear friends, for spending time with me today =).
One of the wonderful perks of publishing on Substack are the amazing connections and friendships you make. If you are a writer, or a creative of any kind, you are likely to find your people here.
I did, and I want to introduce them to you:
These two are what I personally deem ‘beautiful human beings’, and I cherish them as friends. Kind, thoughtful, ever so patient (cause they have to deal with the likes of me, duh), but oh…my…goodness…they are talented!
I hope you enjoy our discussion today….about our writing process.
Every fiction story requires worldbuilding

Great talk guys! Highly enjoyable.
Glad you liked it, Ben!
I'm looking forward to this! I set my alarm but things didn't line up to watch live. Thanks for the replay!
Always....
You and I already know we have cool stuff to talk about...so let's coordinate when we can get on desktops or laptops and make this happen!
Oh, and I finally got your 4 books to the top of my reading list...and I now have no Nook!
...must....replace....Nook.
Yeah buddy!
Such is life, may your nook rest in peace.
Ohhhh, it's ALIVE.
....but I have a teen daughter who reads FAR faster than I do, so a device with 500+ books on it was just what she needed.
Lol, dad of the year! You should put a nook on your Amazon list.
I have.
Things like this make me a little cautious. This community is SO generous, and I don't want to make light or take advantage of the kindness that has blown me away for the last two years.
I've pulled many items from that list -- because my list used to be for all my goals....and people started buying SO MANY THINGS for me.
NOT complaining....I'm GRATEful...but some things are not needs, and I started feeling bad. This list contains goals I'm working towards.
The Nooks offered on Amazon are not the top of the line waterproof ones I buy, but i can't remember the last time I read in the bathtub (shrug).
Love your list of writers to bring on. All worthy of a Substackian Writers Round Table!!!
You knowwww,.....I could create a ROOM for that!
Please do! 🫡
I'll do it -- and I have an idea, so we could keep it on time.
Let me work this out, then I'll send you and those people the information.
Would you be up for a 'private' get together, where we just talk and put out a film?
Of course! Just let me know. 🙂
I don't have a round table, BUT I do have a 5 person studio and a 7 person studio created.
Got some help from my kids...but used AI to make it -- ANDit has full color. =)
[DISCLAIMER: To be used until i have time to DRAW the new one.]
Man this was a lot of fun. Three of the top ten authors on Substack in one room for an hour. There's nothing quite like it.
Possible future topic: Strengths and Weaknesses
Wait....what?
....who were you watching!???
I was just being selfish and hanging out with cool people.
Now,....what dd you mean 'Strengths and Weaknesses'?
As in characters? Writing?
What specifically?
Blushing
*reads DW's comment... starts to reply... can't EVEN make the words go.*
Thanks, DW! 😳😂
Lol, it's always fun to embarrass people with the truth.
Okay...I have an idea for a next one....and I am thinking of doing it ASAP...
Create a room. Just seats for authors to chat -- which will be recorded -- then I go into the room, start the recording, and send out invitations on the fly...see who shows up.
Have the chat, laugh, ask questions....then post the video.
Thoughts??
I have the room made...can have 7 people at the same time.
Lol. I meant what is each author's strengths and weaknesses in writing and how are they handling them?
Ohhhh, I like that!
Now how vulnerable can we all be with each other?
HmmmmMMMM???
We might not be the best source for this kind of information, but it would be useful to know. What might be a better starting point is the inherent difficulties for the stories we write. Because every story has a flaw, and if you know it, you can avoid it. As an example, the director of the movie Liar, Liar (in the DVD commentary) said the movie really only had one joke--a lawyer that can't lie. But because they were aware that was a story flaw, they found very creative ways to up the stakes and never approach the joke in the same way and continuously make it worse. And Jim Carrey helped. 😉
Nice! Yeah, I like your idea. It would be interesting to get some of the behind the scenes tricks to keeping a story going.
Not sure I could help. I've only been writing this world for 35 years.
TIP: Love your characters and be 103.7% converted to the core idea behind your story.
For me, I wanted to craft something SO fun for ME....that I'd want to do it for the rest of my life.
.....then I made sure any idea...and mean literally ANY idea, could be placed in this core world idea.
TA-DAAAAA....Wanted Hero was born. My #1 IP.
There, now I don't have to do the video. I'll be the moderator instead.
🤣
Anyone who wants to check out this idea....here's a real time test. Here is the link, I'm in there now....building the aspects of the room as this thread grows.

I swear the universe is not in love with me attending one of these, lol
What??? That can't be so.
What a blast! I sure wanted to join in. Education, Editing, Outlining, Genre, Tools, Publishing. . . Oh my!
It was a lot!
